What is the best bow to use while hunting?

I am just starting out bow hunting, and I was hoping someone could give me the name of a good bow and a couple pointers.

The best bow for you really depends on your draw length, height, and what pound draw you are capable of pulling back. Brand name should be a minor consideration when picking out a bow, as how a bow feels in your hands and when you pull it back are more important. The best thing to do is visit the closest archery shop and just simply try out some bows and see what fits.
I started off hunting with a 15 year old hand-me-down bow, and I got 3 deer in my first 3 years. Dont worry about getting the latest and greatest, just get what feels right for you.

What is a good shotgun for turkey hunting?

I'm new to the turkey hunting scene and having only upland shotguns, what is a good type of shotgun for tukeys? I know everyone will say something different, but I have no idea really. What should I look for, and what should I avoid?

I agree with sturno and bigd. The Remington 870 is one of the most versatile shotguns in the world. it does everything the fancy European shotguns can do, and it costs a lot less. I use my 12 guage Remington expressmag for everything from hunting turkeys to geese, ducks, quail, chuckars and pheasants. The most important thing for turkey hunting is to select a very tight choke. when its time to hunt turkeys i simply unscrew my modified choke and screw in my turkey choke. Load it up with some 3 inch heavyshot shotgun shells and you have yourself a lethal turkey killing machine! Good luck!

*another thing about turkey hunting: its really important that you learn to call properly. most of the time when you are turkey hunting you will want to call them to you. Box calls are great for beginers, but a mouth diaphram can be really effective once you get the hang of it. Buy yourself an instructional vidio that goes over the diffent calls that turkeys make. practice at home before turkey season starts and you will have a huge advantage.

Learn About Hunting Dog Breeds

A hunting dog is any type of dog who helps humans when they go hunting. Each breed of hunting dog has their own particular skill, so a hunter would choose their dog according to which kind of hunting they prefer. True hunting dogs get huge satisfaction from what they do and a good dog can make all the difference on a hunt. Let's take a look at the different hunting dogs.

Hounds

There are three main kinds of hunting hounds: Sighthounds, scent hounds and lurchers.

Sighthounds, like the Whippet, have amazing eyesight and are extremely fast runners. Their way of hunting is called 'coursing'. They see their prey - often from a huge distance - then they stalk, chase and kill it. These dogs are athletic, fast, very quiet and extremely independent. They are very affectionate and loyal to their owners and are good with small children. They make hopeless guard dogs as they're so trusting!

Scent hounds, as you would imagine, use their sense of smell for hunting. Beagles, Basset Hounds and the American Coonhound all use their noses to track the prey. They very often hunt in packs and can chase game for a very long way before cornering it or killing it. These dogs have characteristic booming barks and soulful expressions.

Lurchers are primarily some kind of sighthound bred with a working dog.

Gun Dogs

Hunters take a gun dog along with them to bring back whatever has been shot. Retrievers are very good at remembering where prey has fallen and love to retrieve ducks or geese that have been shot and landed in water. A typical gun dog is very well trained and can follow commands from a long distance away. They are renowned for their 'soft mouths' which means that they don't leave a mark on the game that they have retrieved.

Spaniels are excellent for finding game and flushing it out of any hiding place. They are also greats swimmers, good family dogs and fiercely loyal.

Pointers are also loyal. They're happy and affectionate dogs. Although they are bred to hunt, they make great pets as long as they get sufficient exercise. When they are hunting, they literally point! They find the game and then stop dead, letting the hunter know where it is. Once they are commanded, they flush the prey out for the hunter to shoot. Setters are good pointers.

One of the most famous pointers was Judy, a ship's dog during the Second World War. Her special skill was to point where Japanese planes were coming from - long before any of the humans on board could even hear their engines! Judy was awarded the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross (the Dickin Medal) in 1946.

Terriers

Most of the animals that terriers help to hunt for are pests. For example, Jack Russells go after ground hogs and foxes in America and Terriers hunt badgers in the UK (legally and illegally!). Hunters who work with these dogs are called terriermen.

Curs

These are used in a similar way to terriers but the game that they hunt is usually larger, such as boars, raccoons and even cougars. Staffordshire Terriers and any other kind of hunting dog are often bred together to produce hunting curs.

What is the name of the hunting gun airsoft rifle i want?

I need a airsoft hunting rifle or just a normal air soft rifle. What is the name of the air soft rifle that goes 1700 feet per second only the gun that goes 1700 feet per second.Does anyone know a website that has that gun?

There are no 'air-soft rifles'. There are no air-soft toys that anyone can hunt with. There are only air-soft toys that look like real rifles, but they are not firearms, and they all have smooth-bore barrels, which makes them non-rifles in every definition of the word. I don't think there are any air-soft toys that will push their plastic pellets at 1300fps, much less 1700fps.

You are more than likely confusing air-powered pellet rifles, which DO have rifled barrels, and one can hunt small game with, and air-soft toys.

What are some environmental costs and benefits of hunting and gathering?

What are some of the environmental costs and benefits of hunting and gathering?

Let's assume we are talking about people as hunters and gatherers. If the population is small, their effect can be insignificant. However, if their population is large or concentrated, human hunting and gathering can be a disaster. For example, many of the world's prehistoric large mammals have been killed off by human hunting. Also, the large scale gathering of fish from the oceans has vastly reduced the total number of large fish, and some are on the brink of extinction, e.g., the blue fin tuna.

Deer Hunting — BIG 8pt Buck Down!!! 156 B&C

Deer Hunt - www.HUNTNGFOOTAGE.COM

I saw this buck briefly 2 years ago. Back then he was a 10pt and I thought he was 4yrs old.

Today I was sitting in the same box blind overlooking an oat patch and a road. The buck showed up, I turned on the camera, realized he was a BIG 8pt and decided to take him. I grabbed for my rifle as he was walking out of the frame, got a good rest, re-focused the camera, and took the shot.

This all happened in about 1 minute's time! I would have been in a bow blind, but it was bitter cold, windy, and raining. Thanks to the storm, I went to the blind with my rifle to scout and look for a doe. Sometimes, decisions are made for a reason!
